Now, for the first time, players can see true depth of their environment without the need for special glasses. Super Mario is a 3D evolution of classic Mario platforming featuring new level designs and challenges.

3D visuals make it easier for players to judge the depths and distances in their environments. Players can more accurately judge the jump to the next platform or how far Mario is from a question block.
New and familiar abilities add unique game-play strategies to the adventure. Mario can perform a rolling somersault attack or run fast with a dash move. Or, as Tanooki Mario, he can use his tail to hover, perform floating jumps or attacks.
The Circle Pad gives players complete control to confidently move Mario through fun and challenging environments.
New enemies include Goombas with tails, tall stacks of Goombas and a Piranha Plant that spits ink to obscure a player's view.

Super Mario 3D Land is easly the best 3D Mario game it has GREAT graphics, great 3D, great gameplay, and a bad story the reason why it has a bad story is becuase its always the same its stupid but about every thing else is good but i HATE IT THAT ITS NOT 2 PLAYER every 3D Mario game is stinkin 1 player they sould make the next one 2 player well its a AMAZING GAME THAT YOU SHOULD BY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 i dont know why i put the one there.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

For the first game on the 3ds Nintendo really set the bar with this one. Nintendo proves again why it is the highest grossing video game developer by using the 3ds system to it's fullest capabilities. The colors are very attractive, graphics are better than it's wii counter-part, Mario has even more moves, the enemies grow awesome Tanooki tails and so does Mario, you get to experience open worlds where with numerous routes strategically lined with power ups that are very fun to use, but best of all it's all in THE PALM OF YOUR HAND!!! I never had such fun with any other Mario title or handheld game!!!!!!!!!! I love this game for the world!!

This game is perfect for: kid gamers

people are saying this is the best mario game of all time its a combo nation of mario galaxy and the normal platformers. i have to disagree. at first the 3d was fun and very origional (being the only 3d mario game) but it was far to easy, i found that world 8 was just as easy as world one. not only that it took my precicly 4 hours to complete the origional worlds and the special worlds. the wide open 3d veiw. We all know if your wearing your tanooki suit or you have your boomerangs, if you can walk around an enimie you will try to do it. i feel the expanded 3d space allows you to run past enimies, even bosses, with extreme ease. wat annoyed me most is this ridiculous golden tanooki suit, i dide 10 times just soi could try it, and everything you tuoch it does? it took it upon the last bower castle and was able to walk past bowser because i was INVINSIBLE and just jump on the button? so the big boss of the game i was bale to simply run past and kill. great job nintendo!. the game was wayyyyy to repetative with the bosses. small room on ship. bowser. small room on ship. bowser. the game sould be for ages 8-10 to easy. infact, i will rate it the worst mario game just infront of bowsers inside story, which was terrible

This game is the perfect game for all hardcore mario fans. This game combines super mario galaxy with super mario bros in a perfect mash-up. The 3D platform and new powerups such as the tanooki suit make an amazing game. I recommend it to everyone with a 3DS.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

super mario 3d land is an excellant game for the 3ds. the story starts when mario recieves a letter from bowser and guess what he kidnapped peach again and mario must find her. the 8 worlds in the game have excellant level variety. from deserts and boo houses to airships and castles. the power ups are great and go with the game perfectly. first the classic mushroom that makes him grow. then the fire flower this let's mario throw fireballs. the tanooki tail makes a return letting mario hover and wack enemies with the tail. then the 2 new powerups are bommerang mario which lets him throw boomerangs just likes the boomerang bros and the propeller box. unlike the propeller suit in new super mario bros wii this is a box and you can go so much higher. just like new super mario bros you collect star coins and they unlock new levels. and there is even 8 special worlds after the real levels or a whopping 16 worlds. the most in amy mario game. this isn't the best mario game but it's another masterpiece.

This game is great; from the graphics to the gameplay, it's just all-around fun. The game is the casual, "Mario saves Peach from Bowser" game, making it feel like an updated original. I don't mean to spoil, but after you beat Bowser once and for all, you find a pipe, leading to another land, and play all the worlds over again. There you find Luigi............

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

Nintendo keeps saying that they are making the bar go higher, well I can't help but agree with that statement after playing this game. The gameplay feels great while moving mario around the in Super Mario 64. I got excited when they announced that the tanooki suit was returning, and the suit works wonders while in hard places and killing goombas. The levels and worlds, even though they were short, was fun and looked great in 3D, which brings us to the 3D itself. Nintendo has used the 3D to the gameplay advantage. Let's just say, in 2D, u would be really confused. The game ends up getting short, or does it? Super Mario 3D land is the 2nd best mario game after 27 years, with the first being Super Mario Galaxy 2. The graphics are great, the suits are helpful, the street pass feature is great, and Luigi is as good as his brother!!

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

This is Super Mario 3D land which is a 3D/2D mix. It combines elements of 2D games in a 3D game and adds many things while although aren't new in the Mario universe (except boomerang Mario) Are new for a 3D Mario game. For one this is the first 3D Mario game with a time limit. But they are forgiving and wont be a bother. This game also notes the most impressive use of 3D with 2 different 3D options as well. The top 3D is for players that mainly want it to pop out out I call it the outer 3D . The bottom is the 3D for Depth. it shows players the distance inside the game but suffers from ghosting issues. I call it the Distance 3D. Plus with a selection of 16 worlds (8 main worlds and 8 special worlds) along with the challenging final world this wins in length. This game also features Luigi as an unlockable character (beat special 1 boss). This game is great but... Now for the Cons. For one the story is absolutely simplistic and I do get a little annoyed at Peach's overused "Mario!" But a games main purpose is to entertain and Mario 3D land carries out on that promise. It also seems to celebrate the return o f the tanooki suit. All and all I recommend it.
