Silent Hill 2 follows the sad story of James Sunderland as he woefully enters the sleepy town by a mysterious letter from his deceased wife. Seeking the chance to see her again beckoned by guilt and remorse, he stumbles upon his these fears manifested through unseen evil and ominous characters leading him to the asylum of another world. The fight against the truth that his wife has died, James must escape the lumbering demon Red Pyramid (a.k.a Pyramid Head) along with his mystified fears that have taken the form of living monsters within the haze that is Silent Hill.

Serving as a sequel to the original Silent Hill game, Silent Hill 3 centers on the forces of the demonic cult that spreads the insanity of the otherworld through Claudia, a cult member attempting to bring Harry Mason's daughter, Heather, into Silent Hill. With a subplot and themes involving the loss of innocence and childhood, a web of intrigue is spun by Claudia with intentions to birth a new god.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

I feel like it's better to get it for PS3. Mostly cause we can get that Silent Hill 1 DLC and buy SH5, SH: Downpour, and play the psp and then all that's left is 4 (unless you somehow have backward compatibility from an older model). It really bring back memories from the early games. 2 was my favorite and i still own 3 for my PS2 but its cool to have it for this now. It does need a PATCH though lol. It would be far better if it did. But still high ratings for my fav series XD

Its ok, but it slows down quite often making it frusterating to play.. i know what your thinking, oh so what! well thats what i thought, then it was a bit dissapointing when it would slow down everytime a monster would come, but good noose, it only happens outside or pyramid head fight for me, bad noose most creatures are outside.. and its a big part of the game id deafenetly wait till a patch comes out for the record i havent played 3 yet so im not sure its the same, but i heard it is. PLEASE PATCH FRAME RATES!

The HD collection is horrible. I was hyped for it at first until i got it. Not good at all. Horrible lags everywhere. They even replaced the good voices with horrible new acting that sounds like a drama class practicing. This is just bad. The graphics and sounds where replaced with "better" ones, but thats not the case. It looks and sounds AND RUNS worse then it did years ago when the original games were releases. My opinion? Dont buy this, and buy the original titles for PS2 or PC instead as this is horrible. AVOID!

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

As with every Silent Hill title, this one has clunky controls, frustrating combat and major graphics issues. However, the puzzles, atmosphere and beautiful HD refresh almost make up for it. A redesign with an over-the-shoulder control scheme would have been nice, as the cinematic scheme is now dated. But, this port was certainly better than nothing!

People are saying that there are huge frame rate drops but i disagree.I had no trouble what so ever with this game the only problem is the controls and that's because I never played silent hill 2 or 3 on ps2. If you have these two games already for Ps2 I would not recommend getting the HD update. But, if you have never played either of these games before and want two of the Creepiest/Most Disturbing video games ever together for the price of one game then I would recommend going to pick this release up right now! The new voice overs are good SOUND QUALITY wise but they miss the mark in my opinion because they dont sync up as well with the animations of the characters lip movements. The original voice acting worked better during the cut scenes with the animations in this release you get the option to use in Silent Hill 2. They really should have added this option to Silent Hill 3 also but thats my only major complaint. The mood of these games and characters are top notch and I am really happy to get to play through them both again on my ps3!

I've been a fan of Silent Hill since the first game on PS1 and like most other fans, I was a little nervous when I found out the rights were being sold to Konami America but I tried keeping an open mind. Downpour has been the best attempt so far though there were some technical issues that prevented it from being a 10. When I heard about the HD of 2&3 coming out, I was excited cuz those are the best in my opinion...however, after playing it...I'm VERY disappointed. The new voice acting lacks depth, enthusiasm, emotion and simply just doesn't go with the atmosphere at all. The audio is glitchy when monsters approach and some of the music has been altered which is a slap in the face for original fans. The worst is the glitchiness with the frame rate..it skips, jumps, slows down randomly so much that it's almost unbearable. I love Silent Hill 2 & 3, I'd put both as the top survival horror games of all time but I feel that more work should've been done in these HD remakes before they were released. Until a patch comes out that fixes the bugs, I'll stick with the PS2 versions

To start off I would like to say that Silent Hill 2 is my favorite game, so it saddens me to see how poor this collection presents these classics. I have played and beaten both games in this HD collection and encountered numerous issues. They both have lip syncing issues in pretty much every cutscene and both games stutter and slow down constantly. I beat SH3 3 times and it froze during each one making the trophy for clearing the game with 2 saves or less very frustrating. Avoid until they fix these problems with a patch.
